Woman Busted for Using Phony License, Cash at Merrick Bank

A Roosevelt woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly tried to open a bank account in Merrick with fake money and a phony license, police said.

According to cops, Earlene Wilson, 67, entered Chase Bank, located at 1696 Merrick Rd., at 3:40 p.m. and allegedly tried to open an account with a phony $100 bill and a fake New York State driver's license. She was arrested at the scene without incident, police said.

Wilson is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, and her arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
