Crimes Nearby Part II: Armed Robbery in Merrick, Items Stolen

Recent criminal activity reported in southeast Nassau County communities.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Levittown

  • On May 27, jewelry and an MP3 player were stolen from a home on Anvil Lane.
  • On June 1, a laptop was stolen from a home on Furrow Lane.
  • On June 1, license plates were stolen from a car on Tallow Lane.
  • On June 4, a laptop was stolen from a home on Wantagh Avenue.
  • On June 6, jewelry was stolen from a home on Windmill Lane.
  • On June 8, a pocketbook and contents from a house were stolen on Azalea Road.
  • On June 10, a backpack and a laptop was stolen from a car on Hempstead Turnpike.
  • A Levittown man was arrested on June 14 at his Wantagh Avenue home after an argument led to him allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old male in the head. For more details, click here.
Merrick
  • A GPS and coins were removed from an unlocked vehicle on Nancy Boulevard on June 5.
  • On June 8, tires were slashed on multiple vehicles at Limousines by Micheal.
  • An unknown suspect damaged a vehicle parked at BP Gas Station on Merrick Road and stole power tools on June 8.
  • On June 10, an unknown suspect broke the window of a vehicle parked on Dobson Avenue and attempted to steal a leaf blower. When the owner of the car approached the suspect, he fled on foot.
  • Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at Dunkin Donuts on 56 Sunrise Highway in the early morning hours of June 11. For more information, click here.
