Cops: Dunkin Donuts Robbed in Merrick

Police say there were no injuries in Tuesday's incident.

Police are investigating a robbery that took place at Dunkin Donuts at 56 Sunrise Highway on Tuesday.

There were no injuries, police said.

According to authorities, around 4:50 a.m. an unknown suspect with a handgun approached the walk up window at the eatery and ordered a cup of hot chocolate. When the employee returned to the window the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The employee gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money and the suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

He is described as a black man in his early to mid 20s, who is around five foot seven and weighs 125 pounds. He was wearing a dark shirt, sunglasses and a gray scarf covering his face.
