Merrick to Host 'Meet the Candidates' Night Tuesday

Editor’s Note: This following article was written and submitted by Claudia Borecky, president of the North and Central Merrick Civic Associations.

The North and Central Merrick and South Merrick Community Civic Associations are holding our fourth annual Meet the Candidate Night on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Merrick Road Park Clubhouse.

As we have a full slate of candidates, we will be starting the meeting at 7 p.m. sharp.

This year's meeting promises to be very exciting. Many of us in Merrick now find ourselves in new congressional and assembly districts with candidates running for the first time in our area. This provides a great opportunity to meet the candidates who will represent us after this election.

Our congressional, state senatorial, assembly and judicial candidates will give a brief speech and then are open for a questions. Index cards will be handed out at the beginning of the meeting so that people may write their questions to the candidates before the forum begins.

During intermission, refreshments will be served and we will have an opportunity to chat informally with the candidates.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact NCMCA Vice President Francine Goldstein at 516-868-8490.
