Police: Man Dies After Being Pulled from Merrick Pool
The 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at an area hospital on July 4, authorities said.
A 42-year-old man was pronounced dead on Thursday after he was found in a pool on Elinore Avenue, police said.
Police have not released the man's name.
According to authorities, around 9:40 p.m. the victim's family saw him struggling in a pool before he slipped under the water. Family members pulled him out, administered CPR on him and called police.
The man was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Authorities said that an autopsy will be completed shortly, which will determine the cause of death.
