Merrick Fire Department Ambulance Reported Stolen

After the vehicle was taken Wednesday night, it was located a short time later with nothing reported stolen, cops said.

Cops are trying to figure out who stole a Merrick Fire Department ambulance while it was parked outside of Friendship Engine and Hose Company Monday. 

According to Newsdaythe vehicle was left parked outside the building with the keys in the ignition when it was taken around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night. 

Cops located the vehicle a short time later on North Jerusalem Avenue in North Merrick. Nothing was reported stolen, and police are unsure if the incident was a prank.
