Cops: Teens Busted for Merrick Grand Larceny

They were located in Roosevelt Thursday, police said.

Two teens were arrested Thursday after they allegedly stole the tires and rims off a car in North Merrick, cops said.

According to police, Adam Durantes, 17, and Luis Manual Arias-Rodriquez, both of Freeport, were allegedly seen at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday in the driveway of a Midian Street home stealing the rims and tires off of a 2008 Honda Accord. They fled the scene in a Honda Civic, cops said.

On Thursday, while two officers were on patrol, a third patrolman alerted them of two cars that matched the description of the crime in Roosevelt.  After an investigation, Durantes and Arias-Rodriguez were arrested without incident, cops said.

Durantes and Arias-Rodriguez have been charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and possession of burglar tools. Their arraignment is scheduled for Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
