McDONOUGH, FUSCHILLO OFFER HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM
“From Tropical Storm Irene and Superstorm Sandy, Long Island has recently experienced two tremendous natural disasters over the last few years,” said McDonough. “Both storms highlighted the resiliency of our community, and thanks to the brave actions by emergency personnel, the outcome, while tragic, was not as bad as it could have been. However, it is always important to reflect on these events and learn how to be better prepared for future storms. Senator Fuschillo and I, along with emergency management officials, will be providing education and information in order to be prepared before and during any storms.”

“As our community knows all too well from Superstorm Sandy and Tropical Storm Irene, natural disasters can and do strike Long Island. Being prepared and knowing what to do if a storm strikes is the best way to help keep your family and home safe. This program will teach families about the steps they can take to ensure that they are ready if another natural disaster strikes Long Island,” said Senator Fuschillo.
The program will include preparedness information and instructions from members of the Nassau County Office of Emergency Services and other government officials.
