A Merrick man was arrested Monday in connection with a Valero Gas Station robbery last July, police said.
According to cops, on July 19, 2012 at 9:20 a.m., Yama Basir, 26, entered the gas station, which is located at 1470 Jerusalem Ave., and allegedly demanded cash from the cashier. After the cashier complied, Basir fled eastbound on Jerusalem Avenue.
There were no weapons displayed and no injuries reported, police said.
On Monday at 7:05 a.m., Basir was arrested without incident at the First Precinct and charged with third-degree robbery. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
