Merrick Convenience Store Robbed at Gunpoint

Police are investigating a robbery that took place Saturday night in North Merrick. 

According to detectives, just before 11 p.m., an unknown black male entered the Fast Break Convenience Store at 1066 Merrick Ave. and asked the 36-year-old male employee for a pack of cigarettes.

Then, the suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money out of the register, police said. After obtaining an unknown amount of cash, he fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported during the incident, cops added.

The suspect is described as six-foot-two inches tall, and he was seen wearing a black wool hat, grey hooded sweatshirt and tan pants.
