Merrick Library to Host Blood Drive Wednesday

Those who donate blood will be given a pair of Mets tickets.

The Merrick Public Library in conjunction with New York Blood Center will host a blood drive on Wednesday.

Those who donate blood will be given a pair of Mets tickets for an upcoming game.

According to New York Blood Center, one must meet the following requirements to donate blood:

  • Must bring an ID with a signature or photo
  • Must be a minimum of 110 pounds
  • Must be the ages of 16 to 76 (16 year olds must have parental permission and people over the age of 76 need a doctor’s note)
  • Must eat well and drink fluids beforehand
  • No tattoos in the past 12 months
The blood drive will take place at the library from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
