Merrick Fall Festival to Begin Friday

Thousands attend the annual event each year.

The Merrick Chamber of Commerce will host its 28th Annual Fall Festival this weekend. 

The event will begin on Friday with rides only at the LIRR Merrick Train Station from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The street fair, which will open on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Merrick Avenue and Sunrise Highway, will include booths of hundreds of craft vendors and local businesses. 

The three-day event will include entertainment, international foods and fun for the whole family. 

Proceeds of the festival will fund the chamber's holiday lights program, in which lighted snowflakes or adorned throughout the business district during the holidays.
