Lets find this person already and baseball bat his head.
Anna Weller Beigelman May 24, 2013 at 06:15 pm
can you find out if they traced the lic plate to its owner? so many incidents lately....
Team Dawg May 29, 2013 at 09:28 am
This scenario occurs far too often all over LI. So much so that we decided to author one of ourRead More children's books on the subject. Fortunately, the vast majority of these incidents are handled and reported properly. It is a reminder , however , to take the time to remind our children of the few common sense things to do if this were to happen to them.

It was a black female, beacuse the NCPD showed me a photo of this woman (Monday and obviously afterRead More the accident)) and it was the same woman who I saw on the platform Sunday night. To me she seemed okay. But I didn't see anyone jumped in front of that train. However, suddenly the train had stopped at the east end of the platform. When the police arrived, MTA PD told everybody to leave the platform. Next day the Nassau Police showed the picture and asked if I knew her or seen her before.
Ralph A. May 22, 2013 at 01:03 pm
By the way. Since each news outlet is saying a different thing anyway. Can one actually confirm whatRead More it was a male or female. The picture was a female.
Michael Ganci (Editor) May 22, 2013 at 04:16 pm
It was a female, thanks for your critique Zach, but it was the LIRR that provided wrong information.Read More Thanks for reading. MG

They were only shells. Stop the insanity. The police were called? Really?
Helene May 16, 2013 at 02:18 pm
Those are shells, not ammunition. My grandma used to keep on her mantle WWII shells, and not one ofRead More us got hurt! Museums display them, should we start to raid their premises?
Greg Bashaw May 19, 2013 at 09:18 am
So the Insanity continues! They were shells!!! and they called police! There are things that goRead More on in the schools, like the mistreatment of the kids, who calls the cops then???? Unreal!

ANOTHER LOCKDOWN because of dogs?! Isnt this a little EXTREME?! We are becoming hostages of ourRead More fears! Why do we not lockdown the schools and report the SERIOUS problems that go on IN the schools..
Helene May 16, 2013 at 02:21 pm
and here again, they thought they were pit bulls so right away everyone is shaking with fears. MyRead More Cavalier King Charles will maul you before those pit bulls get to you, lol
Steven Ferraro May 11, 2013 at 07:00 am
Any of these students get a license plate number. It would be easier for police to track down thisRead More individual .
Team Dawg May 12, 2013 at 08:09 pm
This scenario is occurring with frightening frequency in many of our districts here on L.I. So muchRead More so that we at Team Dawg have authored one of our children's books on this situation in hopes of helping to teach our children what to do in a case such as this. Thankfully the vast majority of these cases end without incident and the follow through by authorities has been great. As stated above, please take a moment to speak to your children about how to keep safe.

The police don't have to be omnipresent, just present
That RVC guy April 3, 2013 at 01:42 am
Vincent, its also obvious that you know this because you spend ALOT of time in Dunkin Donuts aroundRead More Nassau COunty. Whatta you...'bout a 40 waist? Good for you, Vincenzo. Thats a good boy.

what abot the other 360 days a year that the entire industry gouges us. The stupidity and greed IRead More witnessed at almost every station was appalling. You are making thousands of dollars an hour, it's a crisis, can you get one $7 an hour employee to direct traffic and collect money OUTSIDE instead of sitting at the register to sell cigarettes?? The lines were from complete lack of organization or intelligent thought.

Mangano hasn't hired a single police officer since he took office. Who is he kidding? Smoke andRead More mirrors!
Joey Mon April 29, 2013 at 04:42 pm
Good thing Mangano wants to close the 1st Precinct, right?
ed April 30, 2013 at 10:39 am
All the pct closures have failed like everything else he has done.

Look at these Disgusting Animals. We need to get rid of these type of animals from our communityRead More and keep them away from our kids. Disgusting Animals. Credit to the Police Officer of the 1st Precinct.

Whoa... I'll bet the poor landscaper doesn't have insurance. Hope the lady does because she's goingRead More to need it to pay this guy's medical bills.
FedUpRealist April 3, 2013 at 02:16 pm
She doesn't need to pay his bills...All he needs to do is show up at Nassau Med Center...They neverRead More have or never will turn down treating anyone...That's why Obama care is such a joke...No American (or illegal alien) will ever get turned down at the Med Center...
FedUpRealist April 3, 2013 at 02:19 pm
Rhonda Wander....Is that name for real?...Maybe the victim should wander over to her house and runRead More down one of her loved ones...That would be justice
(Credit: NCPD)
FedUpRealist March 27, 2013 at 03:24 pm
Per the ACLU, This guy needs a taxpayer funded lawyer, taxpayer funded therapy, a taxpayer fundedRead More half-way house to live in (complete with Central AC and a nutritional stipend to make sure he's getting the right foods)...And then we should all embrace him for his 6 months of good behavior and allow him back into the community with no restrictions...But if it were my child he 'touched', I'd start with the bones in his finger tips working my way all the way to his shoulders shattering each one along the way...THAT would be justice!!!
lucky libra April 13, 2013 at 01:14 pm
this is really a very sad story, and he does it with her mother standing there, he is really a veryRead More sick person,
Zach T March 14, 2013 at 05:33 pm
Gail Complainberg- That should also be why we ban cars, like we do for guns. They are killingRead More machines!! Either that or we need to make all sidewalks elevated in the air 15 feet... Give me a break
Gail Hochberg March 14, 2013 at 07:50 pm
So Zach, then you would have been *extremely* opposed to the elevation of the tracks at the MerrickRead More Station back in the late 60's/early 70's because so many people were getting killed crossing when they weren't supposed to cross and a train would be coming in as another one leaving? Are you now an engineer? Or just someone who loves to insult another for their opinions? Got news for you... the Town of Hempstead is now working on the project of a pedestrian footbridge for Merrick. The name is Hochberg, not Complainberg. I have a valid point here.
Ralph A. March 15, 2013 at 10:22 am
While we all have the ideas, nothing is being done. Has the state DOT ever did a study on SunriseRead More Hwy? History of accidents should be enough to address the issue. I'm oppose to the foot bridge. But It' may not be a bad idea if it will save lives. That's why there are engineers to study these issues?

what was the point of this post? there's no real info. There's no follow up details to help theRead More public. Cause, hazard? I can't understand today's lazy journalism.
randi March 4, 2013 at 02:36 pm
did it ever dawn on you that it happened just a little more than 2 hours ago and they don't have anyRead More information but just wanted to inform the public, as that is a highly traveled stretch and it is going to affect 100s, maybe 1000s of people?
Jaime Sumersille (Editor) March 4, 2013 at 02:56 pm
Unfortunately this is the case with all accidents involving deaths. Police withhold identifying theRead More deceased until they can notify next of kin. The point of the story is to let people know the severity of the accident and that the parkway is closed to motorists. We are updating the story as more information becomes available.
