Merrick Families On 1,000 Can March

Sixteen Merrick families collected more than 1,600 items of food for those less fortunate in the First Annual Thousand Can March. The participants, all members of the Merrick Jewish Centre, set out to collect 1,000 non-perishable food items but exceeded their goal by 60 percent. They delivered the food to the Alex Rubinger Kosher Food Pantry at Temple Beth-El in Massapequa, which serves those in need throughout Long Island.
