Letter to the Editor: Commending Birch's Troop 225

Editor’s Note: This letter was written and submitted by Alan Jasper, the Unit Commissioner for Troop 225.

I would just like to publically acknowledge the heartfelt and unselfish response from Troop 225 based right at Birch School in Merrick to an email request for help with my home after Superstorm Sandy.

Over two weekends numerous Boy Scouts, Adult Leaders and parents help make an overwhelming situation manageable. They carted numerous bags, furniture, rugs and other material out of our house and transported what could be saved to an outside storage location.

The gratitude, kindness, compassion and help given by the Troop to myself and my wife will forever be remembered.

Sincerely,
Alan Jasper                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Unit Commissioner Troop 225
