Editor's Note: The following was written and submitted by Scott Resnik of Bellmore-Merrick EMS.
To date we have answered over 50 EMS alarms in our community and the surrounding areas during our storm standby.
We continue to man our Emergency Operations center (EOC) 24 hours a day with our volunteer crews, and have recently been requested by the red cross to provide our field operations unit Unit 287 to assist at the local Red Cross food and meal distribution center at Cedar Creek Park in Wantagh.
This unit is one of the only of its kind in Nassau county and can provide full field operations, communications, first aid and treatment. Our dedicated volunteers have been manning the unit to provide a warming, rehab, and first aid unit at this busy location.
The unit has been manned with EMS personnel as well as one of our associate members who is an emergency room nurse. With the new storm, we will continue to be operating this unit as well as our EOC to provide services to our communities.
We will also allow anyone needing a site locally to come and charge their cell phone, warm up, or needs a medical check (blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.) at our headquarters on the corner of Grand Ave and Newbridge road in Bellmore.

There were 0 problems…Read More like this when Malucci was in office, this new superintendent is a waste of space, money, and cares more about his own paycheck then our kids! Between school security, and now this, I motion that we get rid of that skell!

As Sacristan at Cure of Ars, I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Rich (as I called him) for some time. He was a man of faith and a pleasure to see. Always with a smile and kind word, you would never know what was going on the way he acted. This was a wonderful and insightful article. It is heartbreaking to think that where there was once love between 2 people, things got to the point where one persons life was destroyed by those who could and did for no apparent reason other than having the ability to do so. God will have mercy on Dr. Rich and the ex-wife and "Judge" should pray for the same given their actions.
