The Merrick Nationals were unstoppable all summer in compiling a 10-1 record.

Merrick's 8-year-old baseball team has won the National Division of the National Junior Baseball summer league.

The Merrick Nationals, made up of boys heading into third and fourth grade, beat the LI Astros on Saturday 9-4 to finish the summer season with a 10-1 record. It was the first time the boys played together on a travel team, according to team parent Brooke Jones.
