Islanders to Play Through Blizzard, Offer Ticket Exchange

Fans who do go to Thursday's game can also receive a voucher for another game this season.

A blizzard warning won't stop the New York Islanders from playing their game Thursday night against the Chicago Blackhawks, but fans with tickets to the game won't have to brave the elements.

The team announced late this afternoon that fans could pass on driving home in a snowstorm and trade in their tickets for another game.

"If you've already purchased tickets and don’t feel comfortable driving to the game, you’ll be able to exchange your ticket(s) at the Nassau Coliseum Box Office for a future weekday game at Nassau Coliseum this season, starting Saturday, Jan. 4," the team stated. "As an added benefit for fans who attend tonight's game, you can also exchange your used ticket voucher under the same policy. Ticket exchanges are subject to certain restrictions including ticket availability."

All exchanges must be completed by Jan. 31.

The Nassau Coliseum box office is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. when the Islanders aren't playing. On game days, the box office is open from 9:30 a.m. until the end of the first period.

For more information, call the team's customer service line at 1-800-882-ISLES, Ext. 2.
