Bruce Cohen to be Inducted Into National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame

   Bruce Cohen, orginally from Baldwin, will be inducted into The National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame & Museum (www.jewishsports.org), on April 21, 2013, at the Suffolk Y JCC, 74 Hauppauge Road, Commack, N.Y.
   Cohen, an attackman in lacrosse, began his career at Baldwin High School, where he was named All-County twice and Captain of the team in 1961.
   Cohen was a three-time All-American at Cornell University. He was a three-time All-Ivy first team pick and led the league in scoring all three of his varsity seasons. He was Captain of the 1966 team, and he was named the team's MVP all three years.
   Bruce was a veteran club player for Long Island Lacrosse Club and the NYAC, and he was named to the U.S. Club Lacrosse Association's All-Club Team nine times in his ten year career.
   In 1974, Cohen was selected to the U.S. Team, which successfully defended its World Championship in Australia. Cohen was inducted into Cornell's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1982, the Long Island Metro Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1987 and the National Lacrosse Hall of fame in 1989.
