Bellmore-Merrick Teams Achieve Scholar-Athlete Status

All 28 fall sports teams within the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s have received the New York State Scholar-Athlete Team Award. 

The teams include football, boys badminton, boys and girls cross-country, boys and girls soccer, girls tennis and boys and girls volleyball. 

In order to achieve this honor, all members of a team must have an average of 90 or higher.

“This clearly demonstrates our students’ ongoing commitment to not only athletic achievement, but also to academic excellence,” Superintendent of Schools John DeTommaso said. “These student athletes embody everything that Bellmore-Merrick represents."
