Student Writers Bare Their Souls

Merrick Avenue Middle School (MAMS) recently honored Mrs. Beinert’s special education seventh and eighth grade classes for the writings they contributed to the “Chicken Soup for the MAMS Soul” composition.

Merrick Avenue Principal Dr. Pratt presented the students with “Achievement in Writing” award certificates in recognition of their work. “Chicken Soup for the MAMS Soul” is a collection of personal inspirational stories that aim to shed a sense of hope and love into students’ lives.

“It is important to recognize all students for their accomplishments, especially with such a critical skill as writing,” Pratt said.
