North Merrick Monitors Attend Project SAVE Safety Training

Editor's Note: This article was written by representatives of the North Merrick School District.

North Merrick lunch monitors and door monitors attended an important SAVE Security meeting, on Wednesday, April 10.

Superintendent David Feller and Director of Facilities James Saitta called this meeting to highlight updated school security procedures in light of the recent Newtown tragedy.

Saitta also spent time reviewing protocols pertaining to lockdowns, lockouts and related school safety emergencies.

The presentation included a small clip from a PBS special program entitled, "Path to Violence." Feller acknowledged the special role that our monitors have in ensuring a safe environment for our children before, after and during the school day.
