Merrick Students to Attend Presidential Inauguration

Three Norman J. Levy Lakeside Elementary School students will be in attendance when President Barrack Obama gets sworn in for a second term as President of the United States of America.

Chloe Ott, Zoe Weissbach and Sam Moskowitz were all nominated by their sixth grade teacher, Susan Molloy as part of the People to People Leadership Forum, which seeks students in grades 5-8 with academic promise, leadership potential and a strong interest in diplomacy or government.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity," Levy-Lakeside Principal Elizabeth Trencheny said. "The three students are leaders in the building. Chloe Ott and Zoe Weissbach are peer mediators and student council members. Sam Moskowitz is an accomplished musician and writer."

"All three have been published in Creative Communication's Anthology of Poetry," she added. "I am looking forward to their return to hear all about their time in Washington, DC."
