Mepham Senior Honored for Outstanding GPA

Lydia Gallant, a senior at Mepham High School, has been selected as a 2012-2013 Scholar in the National Hispanic Recognition Scholars Program.

The National Hispanic Recognition Program, established in 1983, is a CollegeBoard program that provides national recognition of the exceptional academic achievements of Hispanic high school seniors and identifies them for postsecondary institutions.

This honor is bestowed on only 5,000 Hispanic/Latino students nationwide selected from a pool of over 253,000 who took the 2011 PSAT/NMSQT/PAA. Students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are designated as Scholars.

Gallant is a member of the National, Science and Spanish Honor Societies. She is a talented writer and has been involved in Mepham’s Fragments literary magazine for the past four year. Gallant has also made significant contributions to several school clubs and volunteering countless hours in the community.
