Grand Avenue Students Help the Needy

Students raised money and collected food for Bellmore families in need this holiday season.

Grand Avenue Middle School students recently collected hundreds of cans of food and raised money to help needy families in the Bellmore community this holiday season.

In a three-week span, students collected more than 500 boxes and cans of food and raised $700 for families in need.

Each family received a box of canned food as well as a $50 gift certificate for holiday groceries at Stop & Shop.

“It’s good for the students because it promotes compassion and a sense of giving,” Advisor Dominik Bargiel said. “Grand cares in the community, especially during the holidays.”
