Candidate Profile: Dr. Matthew Kuschner

Dr. Matthew Kuschner is running for another term on the N. Merrick School Board.

Dr. Matthew Kuschner, a member of the North Merrick School Board and  six-year member and current vice president of the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, is running for another term on the board.

Kuschner is a 38-year resident of North Merrick and joined the school board 14 years ago. 

“My involvement on the board enables me to stay current with the latest educational trends. Having three children attend schools in the district, I have a vested interest in ensuring quality education for all of our children," Kuschner said.

Kuschner serves on the board of directors of the Bellmore-Merrick Wellness Council, the Policy Board of the North Merrick Teachers Center, and is an active member of the Camp Avenue PTA.

He is a football enthusiast, and serves as a football official for L.I.A.F.O. His precious spare time is spent with his family, wife Sheila and sons Jarred, Billy and Alex.
