Calhoun and Kennedy Seniors Glam it Up for Prom

Send Patch your prom photos.

Calhoun and Kennedy high school seniors attended a teenage rite of passage Thursday night: Senior Prom.

Calhoun's soon-to-be graduates celebrated at the Jericho Terrace catering hall, while Kennedy seniors partied the night away at the Chateau Briand in Westbury.

School officials would not allow Patch photographers to attend the proms, but that doesn't mean you can't send us your own great shots of the night.  Check out our gallery of photos submitted by students and parents and then e-mail us a few of your own to ryan@patch.com.

The Midnight Madness After-Prom Party at Zachary's in East Meadow was a success, according to Community Wellness Council Director Fran Licausi.

"We had close to 300 students and guests that attended," Licausi said. "We had a photo booth, money cube, DJ, airbrush tattoo artist, magician/illusionist and raffled off over 70 gifts."

Some students came to the club after a party they purchased $50 tickets for in Manhattan turned out to be a scam.

"They came to our event - that was free - and they won prizes," Licausi said.

Legislator Dave Denenberg and all three principals - Mr. Seinfeld from Calhoun, Ms. Poppe from Kennedy and Mr. Harrington from Mepham - were also in attendance to support this event.
