Ready to head back to school? The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District has a list of dates for you to remember. Make sure to mark your calendar with the dates below:
For students, the school year begins officially on Sept. 4. School hours are as follows:
Calhoun, Kennedy and Mepham will start at 7:30 a.m. and will close at 2:15 p.m.

Merrick Avenue Middle School and Grand Avenue Middle School will start at 7:56 a.m. and close at 2:41 p.m.
Aug. 28: Seventh and Ninth grade orientation at 10 a.m.

Orientation day for seventh and ninth graders who will be new to their school buildings is just one of several ways to help students to make smooth transitions to their new schools. Students will meet the principals and other administrators at each school.
Sept. 19: High School Back to School Night at 7 p.m.
Sept. 20: Middle School Back to School Night at 7 p.m.
Attending Back-To-School Night is one way parents can become involved in a partnership with their children's schools. The evenings offer an opportunity to meet teachers and administrators and to learn what is expected of students in each class.
