Merrick Avenue Student Approached by Man on Bike
The man asked the girl if she could help him before she fled the scene unharmed.
Another stranger incident was reported involving a student from Merrick Avenue Middle School, according to an email from Principal Meador Pratt.
The incident took place at 7:15 a.m Wednesday near the intersection of Dobson Avenue and Birch Drive in Merrick.
According to Pratt, a Hispanic male on a bike approached a female student and asked "Can you help me?"
The student did not respond, and she ran away from the man. She was not harmed.
"Nassau County Police are investigating this matter," Pratt said. "Please continue to reinforce safety procedures with your children as we work as a community to keep our children safe."
