State Sen. Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick, is targeting drunk drivers once again.
Fuschillo, joined Tuesday morning by Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, announced that he will introduce legislation early next year that would require second-time convicts of driving while intoxicated to spend time in jail.
The legislation would require drunk drivers to serve a minimum of 30 days in jail for their second DWI offense in 10 years, and a minimum of 90 days in jail if they are convicted of three or more DWI offenses within 10 years.
Fuschillo also recently sponsored a new law that requires DWI convicts to install ignition interlock devices in their vehicles.
