On Tuesday, Sept. 20, Nassau County Legis. Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) held a informal press conference in front of Hempstead Town Hall regarding the town's possible takeover of private water company Aqua, who Denenberg accuses of charging far higher rates than public water utilities.
Aqua serves more than 152,000 residents in four counties in the state, including residents of Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, Seaford, East Massapequa, Levittown, Massapequa Park and parts of Glen Cove.
