Verizon Wireless Responds Regarding Recent Merrick Break-Ins

Three break-ins at Merrick Verizon stores occurred in a 17-day span.

Many locals are concerned regarding an increase in break-ins, and Verizon Wireless in Merrick has been focal point this summer.

On Aug. 16, Verizon Wireless, located at 2132 Sunrise Highway, was burglarized. The same store was also broken into on July 31, and another Verizon Wireless store at 2151 Merrick Rd. was burglarized on Aug. 12.

During all three crimes, bricks were used to smash through the front door. Multiple subjects then entered the stores and allegedly stole electronics, police said, and fled.
