Valero Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

The Valero gas station in North Merrick was robbed at gunpoint for the second time in less than a year late Friday night, according to Nassau County Police.

According to police, a 54-year-old male employee finished work for the night around 11 p.m. at the Jerusalem Avenue gas station and was walking in the parking lot towards his car when he was confronted by an unknown male black suspect.

The suspect allegedly displayed a silver handgun and forced the victim back inside the the gas station. The subject took approximately $550 and fled on foot in an eastbound direction on Jerusalem Avenue.

The subject is described to be about 6’-2” tall, wearing a black colored leather jacket, dark colored pants, brown colored work style boots, tan colored gloves and a dark colored mask.

There were no injuries reported.
