Police: Merrick Gamestop Robbed at Gunpoint

Two employees were tied up while the suspects stole video games and cash, cops said.

Two Gamestop employees were tied up and held at gunpoint during a robbery in Merrick Tuesday morning, according to police.

According to detectives, two males, entered Gamestop at 2200 Sunrise Hwy and ordered the two employees to lay face down behind the counter. The victims were then ordered to crawl to the back room, where both of their hands were bound with charger cables and tape, police added.

The suspects then stole cash, game consoles and games before fleeing through the back door in an unknown vehicle, cops said. The victims were able to untie themselves and call police.

The two suspects are described as two black males that are approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. Police said the first subject was wearing a black mask, black hoodie and black pants, while the second subject was wearing a baseball cap, black bandana across his face, a black shirt and blue jeans.

No further description was made available and no injuries were reported, police said.

Gamestop was open due to the release of Madden 2013, which was available to customers starting Tuesday.
