Police: Men Found with 21 Envelopes of Heroin

Police said the two men intended to sell the heroin.

Two men were arrested in Merrick Tuesday afternoon after allegedly being found with 21 glassine envelopes of heroin.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 4:30 p.m., officers form the Bureau of Special Operations observed 35-year-old Todd Smart, of Merrick, and 21-year-old Bryan Grieco, of Islip Terrace, at the intersection of Lindgren Avenue and Elsie Street.

Police said the two men were acting in consort and possessed the 21 heroin envelopes with the intent to sell.

Smart and Grieco are each being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree. They will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
