Police Break Up House Party, One Arrested

James Valle, 19, was hosting the gathering at his Camp Avenue home.

A 19-year-old was arrested early Sunday morning at his home in North Merrick for violating the social host law as well as resisting arrest.

At 2:16 a.m., police responded to a Camp Avenue home to investigate a noise complaint. According to the Nassau County Police, upon arriving at the scene, they observed several people younger then 21 consuming alcohol and a loud noise was coming from the rear of the home.

Officers said that after going to the rear of the yard, they were confronted by James Valle, of the same address. Valle then ran inside and refused to come back out. When he eventually exited the home, the officers attempted to arrest him and he flailed his arms kicked the officers several times. Police, however, were able to place him into custody.

The parents of the youths were called to pick up their children from the location.

Valle is charged with violating the social host law and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
