Second of two charged in February shooting of a man in Freeport.

Nassau County Police have taken into custody the second of two people they believe tried to shoot and kill a man in Freeport last month.

Cops said James Tobin, 23, and Ali Jones, 20, both of Freeport, shot a 23-year-old man in the early afternoon of Feb. 4.

Freeport Police were called to Randall Avenue in Freeport near Wallace Street after receiving reports of a shooting in the area, they reported. Responding officers found the victim bleeding from his stomach from gunshot wounds, cops said.

Five .38-caliber shell casings, one of which was in the victim’s clothing, were found at the scene, police reported.

The victim's status was not reported.

An investigation led to Tobin’s arrest on Feb. 5 and later led to Jones’ arrest on Thursday at 3:20 p.m., police reported. Both were charged with second-degree attempted murder.
