The principal of JW Dodd Middle School in Freeport was arrested for allegedly taking part in sexual acts with a 16-year-old boy last September, police said.
According to detectives, John O'Mard, 44, of Freeport, met the 16-year-old victim on a social media website. On Sept. 15, 2012 at 9:30 p.m., O'Mard allegedly arranged a meeting with the victim, drove him back to his house and engaged in sexual acts with the victim against his will.
O’Mard was arraigned Wednesday by Judge Eric Bjorneby on four counts of third-degree criminal sexual act. Bail was set at $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted and is due back in court on March 25.
