MTA Police Investigating Bomb Threat at Merrick LIRR Station

Service was uninterrupted while police sought out the potential bomb.

At around 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning, the MTA police received a call about a possible bomb at the Merrick Railroad Station, according to Sam Zambuto, spokesperson for the LIRR.

"The MTA police responded to investigate a possible bomb. The K-9 unit also responded but found no explosive," Zambuto said.

However, the MTA police are continuing their investigation. The Nassau County Police Department was also on the scene.

Zambuto told Patch that service to and from the Merrick Station were not affected.
