Merrick Man Arrested for Criminal Posession of Marijuana
Wesley Garcia was arrested in Westbury by Nassau County officers.
A Merrick man was arrested in Westbury for criminal possesion of marijuana in the fifth degree on Sunday.
Wesley Garcia, 19, was one of 10 people arrested at an incident in Westbury. Police from the third precinct said that they observed five male defendants inside a grey 1994 Acura Integra. Each of the five occupants were in possesion of marijuana.
During the course of the investigation and placing the defendants under arrest, detectives said that the front passenger yelled to a group of people requesting their assistance in preventing his arrest.

One occupant struck one of the officers with his closed fist about the body and also refused all lawful verbal commands. That defendant then forcibly removed the officer’s shield and attempted to flee. He was then placed into custody with the assistance of another officer.
One officer was treated and released for the complaint of pain to his hand and body at a nearby hospital. No other injuries were reported.
