Jerusalem Avenue Valero Robbed at Gunpoint

The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Valero Gas Station in North Merrick was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects Tuesday night.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 9:45 p.m., a 57-year-old male employee was working at the Valero Gas Station located at 1470 Jerusalem Ave. when two black male suspects entered the store.

One of the suspects, described to be 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with long dread locks and wearing glasses, pulled out a handgun and demanded money, police said. The second suspect is described to be 6 feet tall, 260 pounds, wearing glasses and a mask.

According to police, both suspects went behind the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash. They fled westbound on foot towards Meadowbrook Road.

No injuries were reported. The attendant was the only employee in the station at the time, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

A Brooklyn man was charged in robbing the same gas station back in 2009.
