At approximately 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, a fire was reported in a laundromat next to Milo's Pizzeria, located at 2148 Merrick Mall.
According to Merrick Fire Department officials, the fire was extinguished quickly, and the the North Merrick Fire Department was called for mutual aid for a ladder truck to assist.

Merrick's Ladder Truck is out of service due to damage that occurred during Hurricane Sandy. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported.
