Eight Autistic Children Sent to Hospital After Meadowbrook Crash

The injuries are believed to be minor, according to sources.

Eight Autistic children were transported to area hospitals after being involved in a accident on the Meadowbrook Parkway near the Merrick Road exit at around 4 p.m. Tuesday. 

None of the injuries appear to be major, according to sources, but the children were taken for observation as a precaution. 

The cause of the accident is unknown, and the matter is still being investigated.

Along with the Bellmore Fire Department, the North Bellmore Fire Department, North Merrick Fire Department, Merrick Fire Department, Point Lookout Fire Department and Nassau County Police all responded to the scene.

No roads were closed as a result of the incident.
