Dog Missing After Merrick Burglary

Cookie is a 2-year-old Bijon/Shihtzu, and cops are seeking the community's help with finding him.

Cops are seeking the community's help in locating a dog that was either stolen or escaped through the front door during a Merrick burglary.

According to police, unknown suspect(s) entered a home on Merrick Avenue through a basement window between 10:30 a.m. and 2:05 p.m. Monday. Stolen items include a flat-screen TV, jewelry, an X-Box video game system, an iPad, a cell phone and designer handbags. The suspect(s) then left the scene via the front door.

Also missing from the home is a 2-year-old Bijon/Shihtzu named Cookie, who was wearing tags. It's unknown whether the dog was taken or got out through the front door. Should anyone locate this animal, please contact the Seventh Squad at 516-573-6753.
