Dina Lohan Pleads Not Guilty to DWI

Lohan was arrested on Sept. 12 after she was allegedly found driving while intoxicated on the Northern State Parkway.

Dina Lohan, the mother of actress Lindsay Lohan, appeared in a Hempstead courtroom on Tuesday and plead not guilty to a drunk driving charge before she was granted a supervised release, according to an article in Newsday.

Lohan surrendered her driver's license on Tuesday and then left the court in a chauffeured silver Rolls-Royce, Newsday reported.

Lohan, 50, was arrested on Sept. 12 after police said she was driving drunk while speeding on the Northern State Parkway.

According to New York State Police, at about 11 p.m., officers observed Lohan driving a white BMW heading westbound on the Northern State Parkway at 77 miles per hour. She was pulled over just west of Route 135 in Syosset, where she was found to be intoxicated, police said.

She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated after a breath test revealed her BAC to be .20, more than twice the legal limit.

After being taken in by police for processing, Lohan claimed that she was injured during the arrest. Emergency personnel were called, but when they arrived, Lohan did not have any injuries and she allegedly recanted her claim.

She was issued traffic tickets for the two DWI offenses and speeding. She was later released to a sober third party, police said.
