At the NCMCA Jan. 15 meeting, First Precinct Sergeant Cohen reported the following:
- A vehicle was recently damaged on Sherman Avenue, but we learned from one other person that there had been other instances of cars being broken into in the area.
- There were two robberies at gunpoint, one of the Fast Break Convenient Store on Merrick Avenue and one of the U.S. Gas Station on Jerusalem Avenue.
- The police have also been investigating reports that U.S. Gas was selling cigarettes to minors. These are separate investigations from those of reported sale of cigarettes to minors that led to arrests of the owners of the Citgo Station located across the street from the U.S. Gas Station.
- We again asked the 1st Precinct to issue summonses for vehicles that park on the sidewalk on Kees Place near the train station.
