Crime Nearby: Bar Fight, Animal Cruelty and Pumpkins Damaged

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bellmore

  • Jamie Flexer, 38, of Bellmore was arrested and charged for failure to provide proper sustenance to his dog. Read the story here.
  • Christopher Cona, 25, of Bellmore was arrested near Marion Street and charged with driving while intoxicated and three violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
  • On Oct. 21, an unknown suspect(s) threw rocks at the window of the PC Richards at 701 Sunrise Highway.
  • A complainant reported that a lock securing his backyard was cut and automotive parts were stolen on Oct. 22 on Merrick Road.
  • On Oct.18, an unknown suspect (s) broke the window of a vehicle and stole the stereo. The car was parked near the Long Island Railroad Station.

 

 East Meadow

  • A vehicle window was broken by an unknown suspect. The vehicle was located on Prospect Avenue on Oct. 18.
  • Thor Geyer was arrested at Home Depot after attempting to remove $85 worth of items from the store on Oct. 21.
  • On Oct. 21, property was removed from a vehicle on Roosevelt Avenue. The vehicle was unlocked.
  • On Oct. 22, property was removed from an unlocked vehicle that was located on Jefferson Street.

 

Merrick

  • U.S. currency was removed from the glove box of an unlocked vehicle at Merrick Avenue Middle School on Oct. 17.
  • On Oct. 19, two victims were sitting at the bar talking when the suspect asked them what they were looking at and punched them in the face. The incident happened at George Martin’s Grillfire.
  • Property was removed from an unlocked vehicle on Grove Street between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Oct. 20 to Oct. 21.
  • On Oct. 21, German Jimenez, age 21, of Elmont, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Babylon Turnpike, Merrick and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

 

Seaford

  • On Oct. 21, Michael A Wheatley, 17, of Massapequa was arrested at the Nassau County Police Department Seventh Precinct headquarters in Seaford and charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree assault and third-degree criminal trespassing.
  • On Oct. 22, Robert Smallwood of Glen Cove was arrested at the Nassau County Seventh Precinct headquarters in Seaford and charged with third-degree criminal mischief. Police said Smallwood, 24, damaged pumpkins at Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church on 1845 Wantagh Ave. by driving on the lawn with his vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and pumpkin residue was discovered on the undercarriage of the vehicle, police said.

 

 Wantagh

  • A vehicle parked on Barrie Avenue in Wantagh was reported damaged on Oct. 21 when a large group of youths ran across the property.
  • A GPS was reported stolen on Oct. 21 from a 2009 blue Ford Taurus parked on Stephen Lane in Wantagh.
  • A doorknob was reported damaged on Oct. 21 at a home on Twin Lane South in Wantagh by unknown suspect(s).
  • On Oct. 22, three male teens were arrested on Woodbine Avenue in Wantagh and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Police said a complainant saw three males run after a car alarm went off. The responding officer stopped three males that were in possession of stolen property who were positively identified by the complainant. Two of the teens are age 17 and the other is 16.
  • A woman on Wagner Street in Wantagh reported to police on Oct. 23 that five to six male and female youths were creating a disturbance near her residence. Police said the woman yelled for them to quiet down and when they didn’t she called police. The next morning she discovered her driver side mirror broken and removed from a 1998 gray Toyota.
