49-year-old man was last seen in nearby Baldwin, has a cognitive disorder, cops said.

Nassau County Police are seeking the public's help in finding a missing Jamaican man last seen in Baldwin.

David Churchill Shand, 49, is visiting the area for the first time from his home city of Kingston, Jamaica, cops said. He was reported missing at 5 a.m. Monday and was last seen on Woodland Estates Drive in Baldwin.

Shand was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, and black and white sneakers with aqua blue laces. Shand is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and has black hair, brown eyes, and is clean shaven.

Officers said Shand suffers from a cognitive disorder and is in need of medication. He "likes to walk and may ask for cigarettes," police said, adding Shand has a Jamaican accent.

Anyone who believes they know Shand's whereabouts should call the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911.
