Cops Searching for Armed Robber in North Merrick

Nassau County Police are searching for a man who used a gun to hold up a North Merrick store.

Cops said a man entered 7-Eleven on Jerusalem Avenue and, brandishing a gun, demanded cash from the register. The employee cooperated and the subject fled west on Jerusalem Avenue with an unknown amount of money, police confirmed.

No one was reportedly injured.

The incident happened at 3:35 a.m. Saturday.

The subject is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build, and was wearing a mask, black hooded sweatshirt, and beige pants at the time.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or have information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
