Nassau County Police are searching for a man they say held up a Merrick bank Friday morning.
Cops said the man approached a teller at Capital One Bank, revealed a black handgun, and handed them a demand note. The teller cooperated with the man's demands and handed over an unknown amount of cash, cops said. The subject fled north on foot through a parking lot, police said.
Four employees were in the bank at the time of the robbery, which was reported at 10:09 a.m. Friday. None of the employees were hurt.
Police described the subject as a black man, about 30 years old, 6 feet tall, and had a dark complexion. He was wearing a black doo rag, tan button-down long sleeved shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and black sunglasses at the time.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
